How is Waunakee's back-up or JV goalie this past year? If I remember correctly, they didn't have a regular back-up last year?

| It'll be interesting for Verona. We lose 15 seniors which constitutes our entire starting defense, starting attack, and 2 of our 3 starting middies. However, we are getting a new coach who played d1 at Butler and with him is supposedly harder and much more efficient work in practice. So all I can say is that our team next year could be good, or it could be a developemental year giving the guys from our JV team time to get used to the Varsity level.
EDIT: Here are the seniors graduating from Verona this year at their respective positions.
Attack Sean Nelson Kevin Korth Jesse Brown Jerry Clay Corey Zingg
Midfield Colton Warner Tim Opsal Austin Benson Nick Lyell Drew Lynde
Defense Andrew Olson Brandon Larson Chris Helwig Tyler Schneider Matt MacFarlane

If I remember correctly, they didn't have a regular back-up last year? the jv goalie was pretty decent this season. looked extremely shaky vs arrowhead in the first game of the season, allowing 14 goals i think. but didnt allow over ten the rest of the season... if memory serves. it was his first year as a goalie, so it was very good.

| Expect Stoughton to be in the gutter, once again. Loosing like 14 seniors or something. Mostly varsity. Though next year is where the kids that have been playing youth finally start moving into the high-school game. | |

| I would give it 2 to 3 years before any of Stoughtons youth sees varsity. From what I remember, last year it was mostly 5th, 6th and 7th, with the one 8th grader playing this year. I think the youth and hs program have to become one in the same orginization, so that there is a little more structure. Hopefully Stoughton can find a good, well experience coach in the next few years. | |

| Marquette's Losses:
Attack: Danny Myers - #16 - Starter and leading goal scorer - Club at SMU Ryan Neuville - #20 - Starter and top three on team in assists Kyle Hanan - #12 - The big man on crease Ryan Schwanke - #11 - One of the top offensive threats in last few games Patrick Otero - #52 - The little man aka "The Hammer"
Midfield: Tom Casper - #35 - Team Captain and All-Conference - D3 at Alvernia Tony Morien - #7 - Team Captain and face-off guy - Club at Ol' Miss Alex Vincent - #14 - Absolute beast that made transition from D to Def Mid Patrick Bell - #9 - Fast as hell and solid clearing middie
LSM: Garrett Fields - #5 - Team Captain and All-Conference - D3 at Kenyon Andy Brodd - #34 - 2nd Year player but great on-the-ball defender
Defense: David Gebhardt - #25 - Starter and the leader of the stingy MUHS 'D'
Key Returnee's:
Attack: Sean Gebhard - #17 - Starter and one of the most talented players in Wisconsin Connor Devine - #21 - Emerged as one of the better offensive threats at the end of the year
Midfield: Rob Richlen - #8 - Probably MUHS' best dodger from the midfield Mike Koch - #55 - Starter who is big and athletic Eric Quesnell - #51 - One of MUHS' better outside shooters Jeff Kolb - #24 - The throuroughbread is an absolute beast at Def Midfield Matt Daleiden - #1 - A talented sophomore that has solid stick skills
Defense: Sam Seramur - #28 - All-Conference. Probably the best stick skills of any pole in the state now Dushan Mladenavic - #27 - A lefty, the Serbian has consistently been one of the better poles in conference Ante Grgic - #32 - An absolute monster that is just thick as hell, Grgic plays great on-ball defense Bob White - #10 - A tall, rangy defender that is strong on GB's
Goalie: Alex Gradecki - #37 - All-Conference and one of if not the best goalie in the state in this upcoming season Ryan Moesel - #17 - A huge presence in the goal that would be starting on any other team
Marquette losses a lot of talent, primarily on offense at attack and at midfield; however, I still think they will be one of the more talented teams in state. They return almost the entirety of their defense along with their top two goalies. On attack, look for the all-star freshmen trio of James Tjarksen, Joey Schulz, and Jack Sullivan in the next few years because they all have phenomenal stick skills and a ton of talent. While I am not sure how to predict Marqeutte's success for next year, the strong core of sophomores and freshmen prove that the future is bright for MUHS.

Not that it matters but i think it will take less time then that we, actually had, if my memory serves me correctly, 4 or 5 solid 8th graders this year who will probably be ready for varsity next year

I couldn't agree wiht you more. For Lacrosse to flourish in this state, the HS teams need to take a hand in the youth teams. Look at Arrowhead, Middleton, SP, Waunakee etc. All of those HS temas have strong AFFILIATED youth programs. Verona has a big group of kids moving up the line. In SP we move, I think 10 or 12 guys up from our 7/8th grade team, ownerer will set me straight if I'm off.

ah very true and i am excited to be able to coach those kids next year if they decide to play, but technically,,, there is no youth team directly affiliated with MUHS. i think that's what i was trying to say

atta way to represent that waunakee education... best structured sentence ive ever seen but waunakee returns all but 4 players, as you may already know. only 2 started keep the whole first and second line midfield together, the whole attack, and have a solid defender filling the place of nick endres at d-pole. and as for goalie, we will be just fine. anyone who works with hoeft cant help but get better. and lots of camps should help.
