| because arguing about whether or not the refs were the reason a game was won or lost is pointless. Refs make a call on one team that team complains. Call it on the other team then that one does. They miss a call and they are all of a sudden terrible. In my opinion most refs do their job to the best of their abilities. They love the game not the team and generally try to make unbiased calls. So to say you lost a game due to refs seems very ignorant. Accept the lost, learn from the mistakes, build on what you did well, and use that to just play an even better game next time. | |

| worth saying, thanks for posting! i completely agree, if the refs are bad... out play your opponent or step up to make sure the game is decided by the players. | |

| The ref's had calls like "illigal spearing" where a player had the ball and simply lowered his shoulder and took out the defender. And "illigal Poke Check" When a player poke checked and it "hurt" the wausau players wrist. Or a slash when the a player it all stick and the stick went flying. Wausau was in the crease at least 4 times that game and when i confronted the refs they said the were pushed into the crease, which is legal. When a player asked about a call the refs said "shut up." One of the refs was in highschool at wausau. The other apparently graduated from wausau last year and it was he second game. It was all for wausau. The whole game. No questions about it. A player got called for unnecessary roughness when he simply made a tough slide and hit a cutter when he had the ball. They called unsportsmanlike on a player when he, and noone around him was talking to anyone else besides his own players. There were 3 penalties called in a matter of 10 seconds all of which were crap calls. Our defense shut down the 6 on 3. It was just a non sense game. I pray to god we can play wausau again at home with some legit refs. | |

| Well the 'bull dodge' is more than likely going to get a warding call if anything. If the player is leading with his head(or it seems that way to the ref) then a spearing call is correct.
A slash is called anytime excessive force is used, does not matter if it hits all stick...if you're taking baseball swings, its a slash.
As far as unsportsmanlike...if the refs thought anything that was said was unsportsmanlike, regardless of who it's directed at...they can call a penalty.
I say you can't blame a loss on refs, they didn't keep you from putting the ball in the back of the net.

| Actually, refs can prevent your team from scoring if the penalties, legit or not, are excessive to the point of tilting time of possession in favor of one team. We certainly didn't capitalize on oppurtunities, but when it is one sided, refs can affect a game. Regardless, it seems to be a theme with us. I wish we had those IL refs that we had down in the tourney. They let us play, and we physically beat the other teams. Which is why we won that tourney. Fortunately, our man down is solid enough for dealing with our refs. Not to say that the refs are bad, just inexperienced. IL has had high school lacrosse for 15 more years than WI, so they have many more experienced refs. Up here, we'll have to figure out how to work with the limited time of possession. | |

Even though most teams will make an excuse for their losses, agreed that middleton players on here do seem to add more than needed as excuses for every game they drop.

| Arguing against this is simply pointless. No ones opinion about the game is going to be changed regardless of what anyone says. So fine, you feel your better than us, so then i guess i hope as well that we play you guys again and we'll see how it goes. But until then shall everyone just drop it? | |

| Guys,
We aren't a place to come complain about refs, or banter between players. This forum is to IMPROVE the game and help it GROW.
If anybody says anything that the admins feel could lead to stunting the growth of the sport in ANY way, the post will be deleted and depending on the severity they could be banned.
Thanks | |

Aggressive, hard fought game. Bayport's goalie made some great saves. The pirates came out with an 8-1 lead and DP fought back hard. The redbirds seniors started showing some leadership and mounted a great comeback. Not bad for 1 practice in the past 3 weeks. Bayport has a talented, well coached team. I think #3 had most of their scores. Fun game to watch. Hope to see them again.

We were up 6-5 at the end of the 3rd quarter but failed to close out the game. Middleton played well, congrats to them on the win.
