Anyone here have a Garmin Nuvi 265WT or anything like it? I'm real close to buying one and would just like to see what some other Nuvi owners have to say about them.

i have a garmin nuvi, not exactly sure what kind but i love it. the only real problem i have with it is that sometimes it takes a couple minutes to get a signal when you turn it on and you have to wait until you can go anywhere. that and one time it took me to a mcdonald's that didn't exist

Eh, start up time is not a concern really...but that's weird about the mcdonalds, I would've emailed Garmin and told them that haha.

A lot of those things like McDonalds that don't exist are there because people don't let them know, or it doesn't get to the right people to get fixed. If you google the Taco Bell in Whitewater it says it's a good 2 miles away from where it actually is.

Maybe the base was top secret and hidden underground. Haha

The GPS on my iPhone has worked better than any GPS my family or any friends has ever owned.

Other than the whole point of a gps which is hands free turn by turn directions.

And that's because the iPhone doesn't use satellites....it uses triangulation using the towers.

That's entirely not the reason it doesn't have turn by turn directions. It doesn't have turn by turn because Apple doesn't enable that feature, like many others. Supposedly with the 3.0 software update in late June that will be enabled though. The iPhone as it is now is a shell of what it could be if Apple had more features enabled.

Oh I know that Butters, I was saying that's why it's better as far as pin pointing your location and stuff.
