| Does anyone have the official list for the 2009 all state selections. they read them off at the state championships today, but i haven't seen it posted anywhere online. i know the goalie from neenah (Ben Birtch) didn't make the list and i think that's ridiculous, he was easily the best goalie in the bay valley and although the bay valley might not be the strongest conference in the state, i still think hes all state material. | |

| James Clemens is one of Bay Ports attack... I've only seen him play once vs Arrowhead, but he had a solid game vs the Warhawks to say the least. | |

| I'm not sure although I do find it interesting that in the two years its been done, no Madison player has been selected. The last two years have been one Milwaukee, and one Bay Valley player.... | |

| i think a lot of it is coaches polls and i heard that some coaches didnt even really vote for all of the awards (all-state, american or all conference). from what i've seen, (majority of the bay valley) the coaching is pretty weak but some teams just have strong athletes to compensate for it. i'm not saying all coaches in the conference are bad either, there definitely are some good coaches who know their stuff but there are also a few who could use some work. you don't need to know everything about lacrosse as long as you can be a good coach and a leader, it works for any sport. | |

Are any awards? People who think post season awards should have emphasis placed on points are foolish at best. Like most awards, All Americans are likely nominated and voted on by either coaches or a selection committee. Skill, leadership, value to your team, and other factors are all taken into account.

| I'm still going to stand by my argument. Points cannot be taken into account, and you can see it at most levels. A lot of teams play weak schedules, can boost stats in blowouts, or have tons of talented players around them to support their high point seasons.
Other players could play strong schedules against all of the best teams, get pulled at halftime, or play on a totally weak team with no supporting cast.

| ^^i definitely agree with that.
another thing is, there were teams this season who were so deep in talent and well balanced in performance that no one really stood out as "the dominant player". several starters on teams like wausau, arrowhead, middleton, waunakee, or marquette could have been thrown onto a team with less talent and put up some insane numbers that normally would have been spread out on one of the top tier teams. just an opinion.
i think thats why the all state list or all conference lists will never completely satisfy anyone.
but i dont think points should be completely thrown out of the equation, because i think no matter how lopsided your team scoring is, its really impressive for someone to put up numbers like whitey on sun prairie did this season.
