WLCA 2009 Weekly Poll

Based on inputs from several coaches around the state, here is the first-ever Wisconsin Lacrosse Coaches Association (WLCA) 2009 Pre-season Poll for boys' high school lacrosse.

7. Sun Prairie
8. Neenah
9. Regents
10. Appleton

During the season, WLCA will gather submissions for the top ten teams from coaches around the state and send out an e-mail with the results early each week. Poll inputs will be due by e-mail to tdarcy@Aol.com NLT noon every Monday during the season (starting April 6) and we'll try to get results disseminated within a day or so. We hope to get some media coverage as well.

Looks good, awesome to see something like this was established. I think Verona's got a lot to prove if they're to stay up that high but I think they've got a capable team this season. Any help you'd want with anything just let me know Coach Darcy.

That seems about right from what ive heard at least. But I don't know if I quite undestand the asterisks after...it says that those denote out of state play, but kettle moraine had an asterist who did not play in any out of state games to my knowledge. Also marquette lost in their rournament so I would assume that they would recieve an asterisk, unless I am missing something

Hopefully, in the off season, we'll be able to better organize WLCA. Interested in helping organize the WLCA, let me know soonest. As I see it now our first steps need to be...
Step 1 Get members. Initially free. Sign-up and you're in. There's our base membership.
Step 2 Petition members for officer candidates. Have members vote. Now you have officers. Pres, VP, Sec Treasurer. At this point, we'd hope to petition the WLF for a board slot for WLCA representation.
Step 3 Form sub-committee to create by-laws. Within by-laws create regions etc... Probably smart to get non-profit status once by-laws are established.
Step 4 Generate operational revenue dues donations etc.

This is the current poll as of today? As in Appleton still number 5 even after losing by 12 to KM?

the votes were counted today...so it's as of last weeks games.

The coaches' poll is tabulated based on results received by Monday noon...so games played after that wouldn't be captured until the following week's poll. I know that was a big win for KM but unfortunately this latest edition of the poll is the final one because playoffs (the only real poll) start soon.
