| Super early look at what people might think next year may shape out to be. I'd say it's a fairly good guess, but I don't know if I'd have JHU that high at 4. What do you guys think?
1 - Virginia, 97 2 - Maryland, 86 3 - Syracuse, 83 4 - Johns Hopkins, 65 5 - Navy, 38 6 - Notre Dame, 35 Duke, 35 Cornell, 35 9 - Georgetown, 32 10 - Denver 13 Also recieving votes: Ohio State, North Carolina, Colgate, Brown and Hofstra.

| Hopkins has lost some serious talent but i think with petro as your coach a number four spot is fair | |

| Notre Dame lost their All-American goalie Joey Kemp to graduation, which si going to be a huge hit for them. How well they do might also depend on whether or not Will Yeatman is allowed back on the team after his DUI incident this year.
I also think Colgate will drop further than top 15. They lost Lalli, who was a great do-it-all middie for them, and I don't see them recovering from that.

| Cornell is returning alot of their offense. I'd like to see them at the 4 spot, with hop down at 6. Navy might be a little to high there. | |

| I like Syracuse at 2 or 3. They lost some key players but I think their younger players and the new players they get this year will still put together a very good team. Plus they keep their goalie. | |

| Ive heard 3 different rumors about Zack Greer for 2009. Rumor has it he wants to be closer to home (Canada). Supposedly he is considering transfering to Cuse' .. OSU... or playing hockey because apparently hes nasty at that too. Does any one know if these are true | |

Yeah I read all of those on TLF. I think the 'Cuse one is only rumored because he applied for a transfer there during the Duke scandal in case the team was cancelled. I'm pretty sure he's not playing hockey, he was drafted into some league after high school, he wasn't drafted recently. Edit: Also, some are saying he wants to transfer to Bryant, but that doesn't make any sense except for the Pressler factor. Bryant isn't eligible for D1 playoffs for 4 years.

| Yeah this is all just random shit I read. The Cuse' rumor makes the most sense, that would be nuts if he went to Cuse'.. would easily put them in the running for back to back Champs though. | |

| Not necessarily, he'd have to sit out a year if he transferred to Syracuse | |

| Not true, lacrosse doesn't use that rule. Look at Peter Lamade, he never sat a year after leaving Duke foe UVA. | |

I guess I didn't know that, I thought Lamade was just given an exception, because of the whole dealio.

| No, there's no sit out rule. I'm sure it's because there's so few scholarships. | |

| I thought the transfer sit-out rule was enforced by the NCAA in all sports. If you're under scholarship and transfer into another scholarship at another school, you have no choice but to miss a year and lose that year's eligibility. However, if you withdraw from your current school and scholarship, then walk on at another school AND pay for your tuition, you can be eligible to play that same season. | |

| Maybe it's just a full ride scholarship. That's probably why its not an issue in lacrosse. I think it's 13 scholarships they get for a team so assuredly no one short of a Powell would have a full ride, thus being able to transfer anywhere. | |

| Got to the bottom of it.
You can transfer and play immediately so long as A) it's not basketball or football you're playing, B) A.D. at old and new school okay you're immediate playing, C) you haven't played at your original school for more than 2 seasons, and D) you remain a full-time student in good standing.

| I'm sure he will just stay at Duke. He has another year to play and he still has Quinzani, and a pretty solid midfield to work with. | |

| I think losing to a very good JHU team is hardly a choke fest. Petro gets his teams to play their best at the right times. Their play style grinds away at the Duke transition offense. | |

| But even still, after being hyped up as the number one seed that nobody could touch and losing...? That's starting to look like choking, at least in my opinion. I'd say the only thing that has kept their last couple post seasons from dissapointment is their losses are close so they were in the game the entire way and just couldn't pull out a win. | |

You are dumb if you would honestly believe the hype that they were untouchable. They were just creating story lines to draw in non lacrosse fans. It is in no way a choke if you lose to the defending national champion who has a goalie playing out of his mind.

| What he means is it's completely irellevant to his situation now. At that point in time he was unsure of whether Duke would carry on lacrosse after the scandal, as the article states, and that was the reason he pursued leaving Duke. Obviously he didn't, so it means nothing now as the situation has changed. | |
