| We have all of our nominations done and are in the process of tabulating votes.
We hope to have this posted late Monday, early Tuesday at the latest.
Thanks for your patience.
We will be taking a hybrid approach to MALA and MAYLA.
We are trying to follow the WIAA formula.
We will have First Team, Second and a limited number of Honorable Mentions.

| Yeah, after hearing how they do all-conference down here, it just seems a little messed up in MALA.
Here, I believe it goes, each coach picks 2 attackmen, 2 midfielders, 2 defenders and their goalie to add to the poll. Then select 3 attackmen, 3 midfielders, 3 defenders and 2 goalies they saw during the year. The conference coordinator compiles a list, and a coach has to give votes to 3 attack, 3 midfielders, 3 defenders and a goalie, excluding all players from their own team. Then who ever has the most votes between the other 5 teams in the conference gets AC spot.
There are some kids who get it based on goals/ points, even if they dont get votes I believe, some over rule that the coordinator can do if he feels that it was high enough.
But yeah, I found how they did it this week talking to two coaches at a mens game.

| Although it is nice to see some great players make all conference, it's too bad that ONLY upperclassmen received such honors in the past couple of years for the Milwaukee area. I applaud Madison lacrosse for awarding 1st and 2nd team all conference selections, including a variety of sophomores, juniors, and seniors.
I do believe that the all conference selection for attackmen in the Milwaukee area was a slapdash effort to award mediocre seniors. There are numerous amounts of other attackmen in the area who I believe should be recognized for not only their natural lacrosse talent and hard work, but the amount of points they accumulated throughout the 2008 season.
Just to name a few:
Zach Nichols (Kettle Moraine) Ryan Neuville (MUHS) Sean Gebhard (MUHS)
On a related note the three selections for the Milwaukee area also participated on the 2007 Milwaukee Select U-19 team. However two of the three played behind a freshmen at the time (Gebhard), and a Green Bay 2nd team all conference selection (Tom VanValkenburg) during the summer ‘07 tournament circuit.
In the end, the real question is: What does an all-conference selection really acknowledge in the Milwaukee area?

| From every game I watched AHS play KM...Nichols did absolutely nothing. Maybe he had off games...but from what I saw he was not all conference material. I will agree about Gebhard...kid is very good. | |

| i saw five or six of km games (including bothe arrowhead) and would say those were his worst two games i saw hands down. not saying that he is distinctly better than the all conference attackmen but hopefully his name at least came up in the discussion, i saw him single handedly win two or three games for them this year. | |

| I'm just basing this off of the games Nichols played against us. I didn't see anything special. There was really no off ball movement to get himself open or anything like that, but I know he's talented. | |
