congrats to Dane county capitols lacrosse team

Congrats to Dane County Capitols Lacrosse team. These guys(and gal) were 7th and 8th graders from Sun Prairie, Waunakee and Verona who were selected for a tournament team. Last weekend they won the Lax Games Tourney in Blaine MN pretty easily. Competition wasn't the best but it was a great time watching these guys play some pretty decent lacrosse. We originally formed as a badger state games team but badger state did not have enough interest. stats:136 shots and 32 goals.
Any one know of any other youth tourneys this summer? We hope to make this team a yearly "select team" from dane county and play in a few tournaments each spring/summer.

congrats, but why didn't you guys have middleton players?

The midleton team/club rep did not respond with any interest when this was proposed. Unfortunately the Middleton youth coach was not informed of this opportunity in a timely fashion. It was a case bad communication. I did not have the coaches email just the club rep. Next year will be different and hopefully more organized. We want this to be a county wide opportunity and can make two teams if we have the interest. Which i'm sure we will. I was hoping LA would help but they declined so we (reps from waunakee, sp and verona) rolled with it.

That's awesome, not only for the networking of kids on different teams, creating a more friendly environment come high school, but to see that the youth are going to be making the level of play increase drastically in the coming years. Great job.

I know next year the Stougthon/ Oregon youth team will have more activity as well as kids that have moved to the 7th grade or 8th, Im not sure the age range there. But there was some deffinate skill out there for that young, I believe Pat Shae was incharge there.

Is this team happening again this year?

We tried to get this organized and we had Pat Shea involved but the only tourney he found was same as brewtown. The other tourney was in Mn in august a bit late for some people. I was bummed that this didn't carry on from last season. I should have stayed on top of it. SP had 6 players ready to go plus a fairly good goalie for a new kid.

unfortunate about middleton, there are some good middleton youth players, thats for sure
