| alex gradecki (marquette) is hands down the best goalie in state, everyone from breabuf, who by the way beat SLUH, said he was a much better goalie than SLUH's goalie (then #6 in the midwest), he has played phenomenal the past two years and he is only a junior, he would be a prime candidate for the all american selection | |

| MALA Coaches from each team selected their players from their own rosters for the "All-Conference" list...most coaches, I'm sure, included those players who they thought not only played exceptionally well but also were leaders on and off the field. Coaches were limited to 5 nominees and I think most coaches used all 5 slots. Some, like me, notated players from other teams who they thought merited selection. Additionally, MALA has requested that players selected be "categorized" in 1st, 2nd and HM positions, which will likely be posted later. Lists like these are imperfect at best and personally I think the the truly all-state players will come from selections/observations of games between Team Madison, Milwaukee and Bay-Val...and even that won't be perfect or complete because some kids might not be able to participate for whatever reason. | |

Through two games of seeing him I strongly disagree. Just my opinion, but he was par at best versus Middleton and Arrowhead when you played them the first time around.

| hoeft is an excellent goalie and an overall fun guy to hang around. Gradecki is one helluva player, but i think that hoeft has an edge over 'decki in that he's a bit more mature. | |

| Hopefully, we'll have the list published soon. It is important to remember that this year, each team's coach nominated 5 players for AC and then further indicated whether each player is 1st Tm, 2nd Tm or HM. Most coaches were pretty good (and honest) in spreading their picks around first team, second team and HM. Coaches know their players best and this system is built on that principal. Coaches also have the option of "recognizing" players on opposing teams they think merit "Special Recognition". It isn't perfect but it is better than last year and will probably be even better in the future. | |

| So in MALA they name every single player that plays? That is a HUGE list. I think for now they should just stick to all conference or just a first team. | |

Special mention is if a coach from another team mentioned your name...it just shows that you were not only recognized by your own coach, but others to.

In sports that contain a goalie, the goalie to the conference champs almost always goes first team. Its not like David is a mediocre goalie by any means anyway. Based off of his skill in net, he should have easily gone first team.

| David Hoeft is actually first team, there are four goalies on first team according to madlax.org. But 4 goalies is just dumb. After reading how they selected all conference that is just dumb as well. It sounds like to me that if a coach wants to they can just put one of their own "5" players on whatever level all conference they'd like? Correct me if I'm wrong please? IMO it should be 3 attack, 4 middies, fogo, lsm, 3 def, and a goalie for each team, then on Honorable mention MAYBE more 1 or 2 more for each category.
But oh well, congrats to all who made the list!

Waunakee's coach made that decision Kudos to him for being truthful if that's how all conference truly was chosen. I haven't watched them play yet this year, but does Verona truly have 5 1st teamers?
