Favorite NCAA Team

Since I made a favorite NLL/ MLL team thread, and seems that not everyone likes professional as much as college, I thought maybe a good idea to throw this down in here.

i can't say i watch a whole lot of lacrosse on tv, but i've gotta cheer for north carolina lax.

Yep.. I like Duke because they're blue.

real reason.. they've just always been a power house. Even after their season got canceled and three of their players were being charged with Rape charges, I just learned to respect them even more. It really says alot when a team goes through that and comes back and makes it to the National Championship a year later. Plus, Danowski, Greer, O'Hara, and Loftus are just plain sick.

For DIII my favorite would have to be Salisbury. 6 National Championships in the past 7 years is simply amazing.

I am a fan of Duke, I used to like their basketball team because of family, it got drug in because of my uncle or something. I was young and had a facination with the color and logo or something silly and it just stuck til I got to lacrosse.

I think that one school from St. Louis thats like purple and yellow is pretty cool too, the DIII one, yeah...

i really like maryland, but i'm also a fan of hopkins and cornell. It's hard to take sides and pick a favorite unless you have a connection to the school... my favorite teams change every year.

I would put my money on the excessive drinking on the weekdays.

Rubeor is a senior this season, he'll be the top attack in the country this year along with Danowski.


1.Hopkins-returning most starters along with Rabil, only weak spot this year may be in goal. Can't imagine them not at least making it to the title game.

2.Virginia-Several returners, leadership, rediculous offense, stellar recruiting class. Dont be suprised to see them one spot up by the end of the season and maybe even for the next 2 or 3.

3.Duke-I think the loss of Lamade to the Cavs will hurt them more than they think. He was a primary contributor in 75% of their fast break points last season. They're playing for a lot, though.

Sleeper:Syracuse-Everyone knows about their disappointing season in '07. Desko wont allow the tradition rich Orange to fall apart again. They'll pull off 2 or 3 surprising wins and may end up in Foxborough.

Over-Rated:North Carolina-IL's #5 team in the nation. With no big name playmakers and a mediocre coaching staff, they may not finish in the top 15.

So there's my 2 cents.

Dwins? Have you ever played any of the GRLC teams (KU, K-State, Mizzou etc?)

Yeah, I have played KU twice. This year we play Missouri State (2/16) and Kansas U. (2/23). The rest of our OOC schedule includes Eastern and Western Michigan, Colorado State, Boston College, Southern Methodist U., Baylor, and Texas.

Who does Rockhurst have on the docket this spring?

St. Louis University, Washington University, Kansas State, Pittsburg State, Creighton, University of Nebraska - Omaha, Harding University, University of Missouri.

I think thats all, we actually may end up with more, might scrimmage KU. We played KU and K-State this fall. Played a good 1/2 against each, first half was good vs. KU, 2nd half was good vs. K-State. We still lost both. And only managed to put up 7 total goals between the two. Both teams have rosters double oursize, so they just outran us the whole time.
