waunakee only had 1 academically ineligable player. but he is back now. No starters is even close to being ineligable now. And for the person who said waunakee has a history of acedemic ineligability, i would like to see some proof. What school doesn't have a couple of kids a year ineligable. Its not like half of our team is ineligable. And you can bring up that party all you want. Not one player on our team was there. Join the brigade of waunakee football haters if you want, but this is lacrosse.

Middleton, Waunakee, Marquette, and Arrowhead are all even contenders.. ya i agree with this, but also i think wausau shud be added to the list, right now theyre undefeated and have been destroying the teams theyve faced, their game vs arrowhead later in the season shud give a good indication on how they fare at state

| itll be marquette, after seeing that first game i have no prob calling muhs the conference winner, even with muhs sloppy play they were still able to get the W, in the conference championship i think muhs will be playing at their best and i dont think the game will be even close
but dont hold me to my word, thats just how i feel at this moment

but dont hold me to my word, thats just how i feel at this moment take your confidence to the practice field, that's the only thing that will ensure a good game - AHS has mor ethan enough fuel to get them to practice hard.

| I do recall Marquette beating AHS 18-1 2 years ago and then AHS winning for conference...don't count AHS out until they lose in the playoffs | |

| Take away two completely stupid goals that Arrowhead's goalie GAVE you (there was no "good ride" just stupid plays) and it's a one goal game. I understand that stuff happens, but I doubt that goalie ever makes either of those mistakes again. | |

| Ok, I'm not sure if this is the place to talk about it, though am I the only one that finds to state tournament selection process to be completely stupid? I mean, obviously the first three slots should go to conference AQ's; however, just giving the fourth seed to the second rank team in the area is dumb. If they are going to stick with the four team format, it should be the three conference AQ's and then the coaches should vote on the final spot, which would function as an at-large bid.
Personally, I would like the WLF to expand the size of the state tournament. Each conference should shrink the size of their conference tournament, and then the state tournament should be expanded to an 8 team format. The 8 teams would include the top two teams from each conference along with 2 at-large bids.
Also, I would like the tournament to have a more tournament feel, with all of the games being played at one location (such as at Middleton's sweet new field) over a span of one week. This would be nice because then then it would increase the overall tournament atmosphere, and it would be more conducive to the fans.
What do you guys think? | |

| I think you've got a good idea going, but lax isn't quite big enough to split up like that quite yet I think. I do agree 100% with you about expanding it to an 8 team format, it makes for an all around better tournament. I bet somebody on this forum could get a good idea going to change it though.
I also agree that it should stay in one spot, it makes more sense. props to you for coming up with a really good idea, that could definitely work in the near future.

| I think they should do it like the NFL, just one half of their bracket. you have the two first round byes(the top two in their conference) then the 3 and 4 seeds(the other top conference team and the top team that didnt win there tourney) and two wild cards(the at large bids) this way its six teams. we would have more teams and each division would be better represented but we wouldn't have about half the teams in the playoffs. | |

| The problem with putting it in one place is making everyone happy. Obviously Madison/Milwaukee would be the two places highly considered (not to insult anyone in the Green Bay area but they're the biggest places). How do you decide? Personally I still think the best state situation I've seen was in 2005 when it was played at Breese Stephens (sp?) in Madison. Arrowhead last year was a joke, a finalist shouldn't have home field advantage (I know this wasn't Arrowhead's fault so don't take that the wrong way). There's a strong chance it will be that way this year again with Middleton hosting state and them being a legit contender to be playing in it. Is it just a coincidence that every year a region has hosted a team from there has won? 2005-Madison(Verona), 2006-Green Bay(Appleton), 2007-Milwaukee(Arrowhead). From what I've heard Buckley is stepping down, so nothing will be done until a new WLF president is found. Hopefully they do something right for once, make it 8 teams, decide on one unbias (as in no teams play on that field) location. | |
