Marquette beats Brookfield 13-7 (the laxpower score is wrong!)...worst lacrosse outing by Marquette that I can remember.

GO STOUGHTON!

And for a moment I thought it was going to be close to the score from what it was like in playoffs last year.

There's a lack of dedication with our team. Our varsity players don't show, kids complain saying "Oh, I hate our coach.. I don't wanna play. It goes my way or no way at all" Quite honestly, I don't know what's up with us. We have the players to be a good team, but obviously not the commitment. I just wish the 5 or so kids that do this would realize they're playing a team sport. Sun Prairie played a great game.. I just wish I could say the same. I can only imagine how tomorrow against Waunakee is going to turn out if we go out there like we did today. All I can do is play the way i've been playing, look past the BS going on, and try and get my team up and winning.

And gblax- Onidea Nation? Is that a Rhinelander team? Well.. kids from that area?

The Middleton game was pretty entertaining, it was the first game I got to see Middleton play this season and I was definately impressed. Between Hummel and Bonebrake you have two of the fastest HS athletes i've ever seen, not to mention Hummel olds the bench press record for his weight class in the MHS Weight Room. There were a few times where Verona got jumped on a clear, and Middleton strung some crisp classes together to get a goal

Also, the Cardinals defense was good as advertised. They all pretty have great handles especially Melum, Packard, Lundey and Hurd.

Fuhrman, the goalie, had like 10 saves, and really REALLY impressed me.

10-2 Middleton over Verona.

[quote="Nate"][quote="thedamnedfan"]GO STOUGHTON!

Quite honestly, I don't know what's up with us.

The fact that our coaches choose to run JV kids on our first, second, and third line for varsity probably can be connected to why we got slaughtered, sun praire played a great game also

Middleton's defense was played un-real last night. That was one of the best games we have played this season... if not the best.

I believe its arguable we are in the top 3 best when it comes down to defense. Especially when Furhman is in goal.

Furhman is just mindblowing. His mechanics and instinct are amazing, then you factor in this is his first year playing goalie (or lacrosse at all for that matter) and your jaw drops.

He made an amazing body-save on a bounce shot where he had to slide across the goal line and get big.
A verona fan (I believe a sister of a verona player) was like "Come on goalie, can you please just let us get ONE!?" I thought that was a testament to how good Tate is

... they're 2-5, I doubt that ANYBODY is

Lost to #14 LaFollete 4-3 (not a big deal, laf is decent)
Lost to #2 Arrowhead 13-0!
Lost to #11 Brookfield 9-4
Lost to #4 Sun Prairie 18-1
Lost to #3 Waunakee 14-2

Beat #20 Verona 6-5
Beat #21 Janesville 9-4

Getting outscored 67-25 (average score of 9-3).
This is the same Stoughton Team we've always seen. Now you realize why noone gave Stoughton any credit. Having no dedication doesn't work as an excuse when the scores are 17,13 and 12 goal games...

Im sure Nate was expecting to have a full team back then.

Currently 3-4 starters, who have either seen recognition in the past or should have had some, are currently out.

Kal Urso, Eric Kind and Zach Transue all received AC spots in 2006, Urso and Kind both have been suffering due to injury. And Josh Wollin, one of the strongest players last year at mid has been sidelined for the rest of his year due to knee injury.

Im not sure if there was a need to point out every thing he said. You simply could have said...

"Nate, your predictions were wrong. Way to be cocky."

And left it at that. But clearly you have something against him to research into pull every little thing into one post.

Hah. Brilliant Jack.

And having players out is no excuse. Verona is missing their best attackmen, one of their best poles, and a couple midfielders due to illness various injuries. They've also had horrible luck on their side as an illegal stick in their game was personally checked by me to be legal before hand. (I'm not questioning the call, but poor luck that it warped in the game) As I've been told this has happened three games in a row with sticks all checked before hand to be legal and warped mid game. I hear no Verona crys. Stoughton just sucks. You have horrible attitudes, horrible players (with the exception of ONE in Eric Kind who is a class act and a good player), and you talk trash when you aren't good.

As Jack would say, normally I complain about him being a jerk in situations like this haha, though this seems more than deserved. If you are a kid playing for a team that is sub-par year in and year out, and you decide to talk a bunch of trash, you have to back it up. If your team doesn't produce and ends up getting spanked repeatedly, than you more than deserve to get called out on it.

Too bad Stoughton and Oregon didn't merge last year, probably would have been a good idea... didn't work the year before because of some players from Oregon and Stoughton not getting along... mainly Pat and pretty boy (sorry, I forget his name, goes to MATC, his younger brother is Peter). But yeah...

I miss HS ball, kind of.
