| Best Attack- Van Valkenberg at Southwest. Unfortunately not much of a supporting cast around him. This kid is an absolute horse when he is healthy and has some supporting cast around him. Fast and strong as a bull.
Best Middie- Nate Condon at Wausau. Playing D I college hockey next year for Minnesota. Awesome athlete and a scoring machine. Probably best all-around athlete in the Conference. Finalist for Mr. Hockey in WI. Blazing speed. If he had taken the sport up earlier, he would be playing DI somewhere.
Best Long Pole. Rich Poirier - Wausau. 6'2" 235 pounds. All-conference football, hockey and lacrosse player. Grew up out east playing youth lacrosse and moved to Wausau his freshman year. His dad started the Wausau program and the results of this team speak for themselves. He is their leader. Playing D3 lacrosse and football at Colby College in Maine next year. Awesome stick skills.
Best Goalie- Appleton's starting goalie. Not much support from the long-poles but the kid stands on his head.

| i played with van valkenburg over the summer, the kid is disgusting. he clocked his shot at 90 something, i'd say it's consistantly in the 80s. | |

| No offense to anyone but....
Marquette's #17 Gebhard really wasn't as good as everyone has been telling me... maybe he had a bad day??
and...
West's #26 Cory Elfman really is not good either, he has a good turn around shot, but as soon as anything gets to his head he breaks down.

He was not shooting with the accuracy and speed that he normally does, and he seemed to be rather timid when he was driving with the ball. Speaking of overrated (again, not trying to offend anyone on this forum), were Middleton's polls that played against Marquette the same guys that everyone on here talked about as having great stick skills? They seemed very strong defensively, and played great defense against our attackman, though in terms of stick skills...eh, not quite what I was expecting. Everyone of these forums talked about Middleton's polls as if they had absolutely phenomenal stick skills, and, while they were solid defensively, I did not think that their stick skills were that impressive...idk, just a thought.

| our d-poles stick skills are better then we showed yesterday, every one of them is capable of bringing the ball down field and fueling a fast break. Yesterday we relied heavily on our mid fielders bringing the ball down field along with a gilman so that we could get the ball out of the defensive zone as quickly and safely as possible. | |

| I don't know how you can say you weren't impressed with the stick skills of their poles. they were pretty impressive the entire game | |

| its pretty easy to say that they weren't that impressive, all they did was gilman every ground ball they picked up on the defensive zone | |

| yeah, my comment was more in response to the heavy reliance upon the gilman. Now, this is the only game that I have seen/played against any of the Middleton poles, so this could have just been this game, though it seemed like whenever they were pressured, Middleton's poles would just turn and launch these weird underhand gilman's like 25-30 ft in the air toward to other half of the field. Regardless, they did play solid defense and really shut down our top offensive threats, so I will give them credit. I guess I'm not sure what I was expecting - people had been saying stuff like, "they handle the ball like middies," so I was predicting that they would be very impressive and that they would be more involved in taking the ball down the field. | |

| Arrowheads poles last year, now there's a group of poles that could take the ball down field.
Any of you U of M guys...is Casey Clark still playing defense?

| We do handle the ball like middies.. we were short a starting d-pole and i was told to look for the deep pass, and to save our energy for defense. | |

| You guys agreed that they played sloppy. The MUHS middies (except a couple, mostly Morien) didn't look like they had alot of experience handling the ball. | |

| West is underrated. They have talent all over. And don't really do losing face-offs. Could have top 5 defender in the state #46. Along with a really good 1 mid line #7 #16 #6. And the attack is strong with Burr and Elfman. | |
