| you can talk all you want about 2007 stoughton, infact go ahead and talk about stoughton lacrosse in any year beside this one, but as the thread is about 2008, and since you have seen nothing of 2008 stoughton, i wonder how you draw such a conclusion, based on a team that for all practicle purposes has been completely recreated between last season and this. reply via pm, since its not really topic related. - relicdavis wrote:

exactly...and lets get this back on topic.

| Stoughton probably had the worst coaching situation last year, coming off a year where the coach tried to pass of the team to Oregon, and that wasnt wanted. So he coached very poorly his last year. Then quit at the end of the season, and left no trails. We tried through MALA but nothing came about, parents with coaching experience, none in lacrosse, stepped up. So coaching and strictness was an issue last year, this year coaching as been lifted, theres some actual background now, and hopefully that pulls Stougthon up. Stougthon discussion over. But yeah I think it will most likely be Arrowhead from Milwaukee, Wausau or Appleton from Bay Val, and Middleton, SP or Wanaukee from MALA (Stoughton a prospect too ). If it remains four for state, that would be sad, I would like to see an expanded state format. I hope that Janesville grows as a team and starts to build a southern conference eventually. Try to pull some of those towns down there into things. Two Janesville teams, 2 Beloit (or more) teams, Delavan, Lake Geneva (not sure, mostly tourist town), Elk Horn, Milton maybe? I mean, a good 5 teams could branch a new conference. | |

| Well it looks like Stoughton will get and early shot to try to prove themsleves a force this year, they play Arrowhead on April 18th. Then a tough next 6 days where they play Sun Prairie the 20th and Waunakee the 24th. | |

| I'm interested in everyones preseason top 5 power rankings for the whole state. In no way does this mean who will win state.
I'll go with: 1. Arrowhead (I might be a little biased, even without the defense they'll be good, and because they are the defending champs.) 2. Wausau (Not sure who they lost but the overtime game in the semifinals was rediculous) 3. Middleton (After all the hype last year i was dissapointed not to see them in state.) 4. Waunakee (I was really supprised when Arrowhead played them early in the season and it was one goal game at half.) 5. Stoughton (With what everyone has been saying about them looks like they could be a sleeper, but early they have a tough schedule to prove themselves.)

| I know nothing about Green Bay these days so I'll leave them out, although be no means do I mean that they're not better than teams I might list.
1.) Sun Prairie (lost no one) 2.) Waunakee (lost only Wyss) 3.) Arrowhead (Arrowhead lost Defense and Sweitzer which will hurt them in close games) 3.) Marquette (Marquette I'm a bit confused on. They should be up here talent wise, but Arrowhead might be too well coached. So we'll call it a tie.) 5.) Middleton (Jace will have his team ready)
The ONLY teams who have a shot in Madison will be the three listed above. It's reached the point where coaching is becoming key (Sun Prairie, Arrowhead, Marquette were some of the most well coached teams this past year) and no one else in Madison has anywhere near the talent to overcome the lack of that, and the only other team with that level of coaching (West) just doesn't have the talent anymore.
Milwaukee I know a little bit about not a ton. I've seen every team play at least once (granted last season). Marquette and Arrowhead I have no doubt will be top 3. I've heard Eastside and KM will be up there, but Arrowhead has too many kids and Marquette has the talent to have no issues being top 2 again.
Once again, I know nothing about Green Bay. I saw Wausau play last year, very well coached very efficient team. Didn't seem to have anyone truly outstanding, but that's not a knock on them more of a compliment for doing so well without that kind of player.

| Playing on turf is nice...as long as you're on your feet, burn's a little bit when you go diving around and sliding.
Too bad AHS is ALL about football...they wont let us put lines on the football field, otherwise we also would be playing on turf, with night games and real stands. If only.....

| I play on turn, under lights. We are only allowed to use certain washable paints, so most of our practices we go without lines, using the soccer goalie box arch as a crease sometimes if ours has faded.
Best way around the nasty turf burns I have learned is the knee sleeves. I have grown comfortable with them to the point I almost always wear them now when I practice and play... especially since I have been hit from behind and slid on my knees on the turn and it stings bad. It helps a good amount.

| Well, now I always wear one one my right knee for support since I have had injuries to that knee, and just a recent one snowboarding, so I always wear that one on my right.
I'm sorry no one here is as good as you and doesn't hit the ground ever and still manages to walk through every defender.

| Wausau for sure, they were the toughest team we played last year. If they didn't graduate any star players, they will be a top team. | |
